Visualisation - Highway Rat

Visualisation is creating  pictures in your head. This helps understand what we read.

Highway Rat is about a Rat who is greedy

 and steels everyone's food. He learns a lesson and everyone lives happily.

My visualisation is different to others because I thing of putting more details.

We have different visualisation because we think different.

 

Place Value and saying Numbers

 Place value is a system that groups numbers based on their size.

The position of a digit determiners its value.When we say numbers we group then within the some house. For  example 15709 has fifteen thousands, sum hundreds and nine ones.

Understanding our basic l0 place value system allows us to pronounce big numbers properly. It also allows us to identify numbers before and after.

AFL training week 2

 I played Australian football league.

First the coach told us the things that we did the last 2 weeks.

Next we got up and kick the ball for a few minutes. When we sat on the grass again the coach said that do the hand pass and got up again. When we were done the coach teaches some new skills. 

Then the coach teaches us how to catch the ball in 2 different ways. The first way was making a m shape and bring it to your lungs. The next way was making a w shape and put it up like a camera and catch it.Then we had to play 2 games.

I it enjoy it because we had to do the kicking skill again and I need more practice with catching the ball.

Symphony Maths

I did Symphony Maths.

First I had to bookmark the link and login. When I logged in I saw a go button .It took me to a under water background that had a video of how it works.

Next I started on stage 1 and on the screen I saw a number line.I listened to the words carefully and the it said that I have to put the missing numbers in.When I finished the task I got to my second task and it was listened to the numbers a put them in the right place.

I enjoyed this task because it helped me more with my maths.

Print Design Rules

 I learned about the Print design rules.

First Mr Wong taught us about the main aspects of the print design rules colour ,layout ,text , colour, and
composition.

Next I figured out which poster were good and bad with my partner.

Last I reorganised a poster to make it look good.

I need use different font sizing for my headings.

Mihi Whakatau

Mihi Whakatau is a Maori term for a formal greeting. 

Mihi Whakatau is traditionally used for welcoming, introductions and openings. It is undertaken by the Tangata Whenua (local inhabitant).

The Mihi needs to acknowledge the significant aspects to the place. The Maunga (mountain), Awa (river), and Iwi (tribe) are generally used. 

Introducing Ingoa (name), Oku tipuna (ancestor place) and where you live is important for the audience to understand the position of the speaker. 

Manuhiri is the term used to describe or group the visitors that are being welcomed. It is important to end with warm welcome so the visitors know that there is no hostility in the 2 groups being together. 

Cultural art | Padauk flower

 Today I completed an cultural art by using materials outside.

First I went outside and went go get some flowers and some grass.

Next I saw my little sister watching a song. In the song I found flower that represent Burmese and its called Padauk flower.

Then I went to google and see what it looks like.I sort out the leaves and put them together to make a Padauk flower.

After I took a picture and blogged it.I also know that Padauk flowers are use in water party called thingyan and everyone splash other peoples to get them wet.

I loved this task because I can know more about Padauk flowers.

Basic fact boxes

 I completed a speed demon challenge on level 5.

I got 100 out of 100 correct and I got up to 7 minutes and 4 second.

Next time I am going try a harder level like level 10.

Prototec

I learned prototec maths. Prototec is a maths learning game. I got 6 out of 60.

It took me 8 ms and 6 secs to finish my stage 4 prototec.

I need to work more of my basic fact at home.

AFL training

I played Australian football league.

First we sat on the grass and listened to the coach.When we were quiet our coach showed us how to pass the ball.The coach shown us the plate hand and the fist hand.

Next we got up into partners and try passing the ball.

Then the coach called us to sit in the shade and showed us how to kick the ball.When the coach told us to get in partners we got into the same partner.When it was time to stop the coach said we are going to play octopus.

After got turns to be the tagger but the rules was different.The tagger has to pass the ball and

try and hit us.When the coach said it is time for next game we got into different partners.The coach and to teacher had to stay still and we had to use the passing skill to hit the teachers.

When it was finished I felt very exhausted.

 

Handwriting

I learned how to write my alphabet, numbers, and symbols neatly.

I watch a video to show neat handwriting. 

I wrote the characters neatly into my writing book.

I need to work on my little m because my little m is not sharp like the big m.

LS1 treaty

 In LS1 we learned about the 3 Ps in the Treaty of Waitangi and how they apply to our learning.

First Mr Ogilvie introduced the 3 Ps in the Treaty of Waitangi. 

Then in groups we wrote statements about the 3 Ps are all connected.

After that we use our group ideas and thought about hoe they connected to me.

I chose these 3 statements because they will help me be successful with my learning in LS1.

I will say nice words to each other people and helping people if they are stuck on something.
