Poety Slam

 I finished a (SLJ Summer learning journey) activity.

First I wrote my favorite word a synonym that I wrote with noun, verb, adjective, and adverb. A synonym is the same meaning but different word.

Next I thought of something that I loved doing when it is summer and something that we can do in summer.

Then I searched some pictures and putted 5 or 6 pictures about something that I loved doing when it is summer and something that we can do in summer.

Lastly I putted my own picture in the midde of the google slide.

I enjoyed this task and learned what an adjective and a adverb mean.

They were invented between 2014-2015.


A small house wife in South America first invented ANZAC biscuits.


ANZAC biscuits are from Australia, and New Zealand.


ANZAC biscuits can be made in many different ingredients like spicy or very sweet.

Futoshiki Puzzles

I learned how to solve a Futoshiki Puzzle.

First I drew outline of the 5x5 gride.

Next I put the three random numbers by 1-5 in any colom or row. How we solve it is that we write 1-5 in any order without touch. For example The 5 is on top of the 5. The 5 is beside the 5.

Then I learned how the symbol Futoshiki works. The symbols are (smaller than<) and (greater than>)  

This way is bigger -> - this way is smaller. Same as the other symbol but the other way around. This way is smaller -< - This way is bigger. We solve the puzzle the same as the number puzzle.

Next time I should make my own futoshiki puzzle harder.

Line Art

 I learned how to draw line art. Line art is a drawing that we draw with only straight lines.

First I drew a plan in my book.

Next I drew a big triangle in the middle of the paper. The triangle is a big pyramid.

Then I drew an eye next to the pyramid. To make the art I drew from the intersection to another intersection.

Finally I drew some snow flakes at the bottom of the pyramid.  

Lastly I drew many small dimonds and big dimonds to finish of my pyramid.

Next time I should use numbers to make my line art. Using numbers make me draw lines on the correct intersection.

Be careful of a germ called Legionella longbeachae. Legionella longbeachae is dangerous because when breath it in get really sick.

1.Start with a planter box


2.Put the potting mix in the planter box.                                                                                                             

3.Poke a hole in the potting mix.


4.Put the seed in the hole.                                                                                                                                 


5.Pour some water on the soil.

 I finish a HPE task.

When I finished I felt great. All I needed to do is go to youtube type Just dance and find a dance.

Next time I should do more dance than one.

 I finished a task called steps web.

The first asctivity is choose the word. It will have a sentence and a missing word. There are Wha words to choose on so you could make the sentence.


The next activity is word flash. It will show a word and disappear. On the side of the page there is going to be a list of words and you need to perehi on of the words you see.

I think I need more practise with the word rapa because it shows it in a popoto time.

SSR Selfie True or False baby animals

I completed a can do task called SSR Selfie.

First I set a 15 minute timer. I read all of the page.

Next I found some very cool information.

The first information is that the father cat never take care of the kittens.

The next information is female sea turtles lay their egg at the same beach they were born.

The last information is baby polar bear cub learn how to catch seal through a hole in the ice.

I enjoyed this task but I did'n know that female frog lays thousand eggs at one time.

Wensday workout

 I finished a Wensday work out.

First activity was run on the spot. You need to run but stay where you were.

Next activity was lunges. Your front knee needs to go down and your back knee has to lower down.

Anouther activity is mountain climb. Your back needs to be straight and your shoulders need to be over your wrist and pull you knee up to your hips.

The last activity is ankle touches. You need to lye on the floor and move side to side and touch your ankle.

I think I need more practise with the ankle touch because I keep on wanting to lay down. 

Madlibs

 My group and I worked on this activity called Madlibs. We had to write down: A boy name, Girl name, colour, place, A model car, number, Number between 8 - 13, Day of the week, and a type of fabric.

First we wrote down a boy name and a girls name and they were Joe, and Lucy.

Next we wrote down a colour and a place. The colour was blue and the place was KFC.

Then we wrote a type of car a number and a number between 8 - 13. The car was Mercedes benz, the number was 15, and the number was 11.

Lastly we wrote the day of the week and a type of fabric. The day of the week was Monday and the fabric was cotton.

SSR Selfie The bad Guys 7

 I read a book called the bad guys up to chapter 6.

The bad guys were go to the old day where there were dinosaur. Wolf, snake, and Shark were leading the dinosaur away when Piranha and Tarantula fix the time machines. Shark disguised himself as a tree and they got on the shark. Meanwhile Tarantula said to Piranha that don't move until piranha got stuck in the T-Rex nose.

I liked how the auther used puntuation when it was time to.



Typing mat

 I finish a task that is called dance mat type. This activity is to practise typing without looking at the keyboard.

First I set a 15 minute timer and went on the dancing mat stage 2.

Next I placed my fingers on home row key. They are A,S,D,F,G,H,J,K,L,and ;.

Then I learned how to type e and i. To type e and i you need to bring the d finger up to press e and bring the k finger up to press the i.

Lastly to finish up I put on what I need to improve on.

I need to improve on get on the right letters and more one finger forward to the e and i.

The next activity is choose the word. You have a missing word in between at the back or in the front and have to press the correct word that goes in the space.

I think I need to practise with find the word because I get mix up with the sound.

Problem solving

 I finished a problem solving activity.

First I read the text and hightlight the key words. Then i I picked three stratigies. I choose place value, repeated addition, and skip counting.

Next I wrote down the equation for example: repeated addition

7 x 14 = ??

7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 = 98

7 x 14 = 98

Lastly I solved it step by step. I started adding seven 14 times and got the answer.

I think I need more practise with adding up the numbers.

Fitness

 I finish a Thursday fitness.

The first activity is run on the spot. You need to run but you need to stay there.

The next activity is wall sit. Wall sit is that you lay on the wall and bend your knees just like you are sitting on the chair.

The next activity is squats. Squats is just like you are sitting on a chair but you go lower and you keep your heels on the ground.

The last activity is Burpees. Burpees is like you are jumping hight up and lay on the ground and you keep repeating.

I think I need to improve on the wall sits because I keep on sliding of the wall.


Typing

 I finish a can do task that is called dance mat type. This activity is to practise typing without looking  \at the keyboard.

First I set a 15 minute timer and went on the dancing mat.

Lastly to finish up I put on what I need to improve on.

I need to improve on trying to not look at the keyboard, and stop typing with my fingers.

Persuasive Reason

 I learned how to use persuasive reasons.

First I chose a topic about a topic that we could persuade to. My topic was about endangered animals. My argument is people should not make animals endangered.

Next I wrote some information to back up my reason. 

My reasons were we should not make vultures endangered because it keeps our ecosystems clean and healthy for the environment. We should save Asia elephants because they represent many cultures in Asia. We should not make the wild animal go endangered because it helps the environment grow fresh like green. We also link the websight under the information.

Lastly I search about the information I wrote to see if the information was correct.

I think I need to work on writing different reasons.

I learned how to use persuasive reasons.

Synthesis and QAR template

I learned how to use the synthesis and QAR template

First I wrote my prior knowledge. When we finished our prior knowledge we read the png about bullies. The prior knowledge is about what we know about the text already.

Next we finish the new information and the new understanding. The new information is some information in the text and the new understanding is about do we disagree to stop bullies or agree to stop bullies.

Then we sort out the 10 question in which order. There are 4 station and they are right there, think and search, author and you, and on my own. Those question is about the text, your understanding, about what the author thinks about the text, and about the key work that the author use many times in the text.    

Lastly we put in the question in the QAR template.

I think I could try and get my question in the right order.





Water Safety Week 3

My group and I went swimming.

First we glide through the hoop with the board to practise our kicking. We put our eyes the whole way to the end of the swimming pool in a square. The first part ended when we glided through the pool without the board.

Next we glide to the end of the water and came back. We swam in a square. The second part ended by swimming in a square 2 times.

Finally we float on my back with a noodle float. We put our hands and legs on the bar, put our ears in the water and let go. The last part ended by getting out of the pool.

I learned a lot about water safety. Next time I could try to float without the noodle.

Persuasive brainstorming traffic light

 Mr Oglive writing group and I learned how to be persuasive.

First I watched 2 videos and the first video was persuasive part 2 brainstorming and the second video was persuasive part 3 brainstorming. The first part ended when I finished watching the video.

Next we went off and wrote on google docs and write our favorite thing to do. There were 3 topics and they were about myself, school, and the world. The first part ended when we finished writing our favorite things to do.

Lastly, we highlight our favorite things to do in red, yellow, and green. Red is not a good idea because it's going to run into problems. Yellow is a good idea but it is going to run into a few problems. Green is that nothing is going to run into problems.

I enjoyed learning about persuasive brainstorming. Next time I could try to write more favorite things than 14.

Persuasive

I completed a persuasive task.

First we watched a video of what persuation is and what persuasive means.

Next we add some examples and some text of what perspective means. The examples are about 9 and 81. If you look this way it looks like a 9 but if you look on the other side it looks like a 6. The same as 81 if you look this way it looks like a 81 but if you look on the other side it looks like a 18.

Lastly we made a poster of persuation.

I think I enjoyed this activity because I got to know what persuasive means.

Water safety week 2

LS1 and I went to the panmure swimming pool.

First we used our crocodile hands on the board and glided through the hoop. We have to glide through the swimming pool in a square. The first part ended when we finished the first activity.

Next we diving dolphins through the hoop. we have to put my hand above and put my other hand above and dive like a dolphin. The second part ended by getting back to the step.

Finally we practise floating with a board, without a board, and a noodle float. The last part ended when It was time to go back to class.

I learned a lot about Diving dolphins, floating, and gliding. Next time I could try and glide without the board.

Addition and Subtration

Addition and Subtraction can be solved by using two stratiegies counting on/back, rounding and compensating.

Counting on is adding forward using finger's when the number is under 10. Counting backward is subtracting number under 10 with your finger's.

Rounding and compensating is rounding the added or subtarcting number to the nerest tidy number, then compensating for the rounding. Compensating is done by splitting the new number into the old number and the left over.

Counting on/back and rounding and compensting are easy strartiegies for addition and subtraction, when numbers get to be big to be solved with basic fact.

Water safety

LS1 and I went to the pools.

First we learned how to get into the pool safely. We had to put our hands on the side and get into the pool. The first part ended when we got into the pool.

Next we jumped up and down and blew bubbles. Then we swam into a hoop and got on board. We had to go into the tunnel like a crocodile.

Last I got a noodle float and acted like a seahorse. We also floated on our back with the board. Finally we went into the hoop without the swimming board.

I learned a lot about how to float, and how to swim like a crocodile. I think I should try and swim without the swimming board.

Party Popper Design

Arty Rocky Crafters and I made our design of the party popper.

First we chose the party popper design of what our design should be on our party popper.  For Example I will choose a turtle as my design and practise drawing the turtle. Then we cut the turtle out and stick the turtle to the cup.  The first part ended by finishing deciding our drawing.


Next I drawed the picture and coloured the picture for more colour.  The second part ended when we showed the teacher our design.


Finally I put the right amount of filling and put our party popper together before testing our party popper.  The last part ended by taking a photo and a video.


I really enjoyed making the same party popper again and again. I think I need more practise with putting the pieces together.

Party Popper Prototype

My group Arty Rocky Crafters designed the party popper prototype.

In the beginning, I chose the parts of the party popper that we would put together to make our prototype. For example I choose the small rubber band instead of the big rubber band because the small rubber band shoots more confetti out. We finished when choosing all of the parts.

Next we got our parts and designed our prototype.

To finish up we designed our prototype and took a picture.

I learned a lot about designing our prototype. Next time I could try different parts of the party popper.

Revising

I revised who is my friend, who is my teacher, who is my mum, and who is my dad. Ko wai to hoa? Ko wai o mahita? Ko wai to mama? Ko wai to papa?

First I revised some questions.

Next I answered new questions.

Then I wrote the name of the 3 things. For example There is 1 picture and I have to write the object name in maori.

Lastly I played a memory game. The rules for the memory game is you have to find a matching picture and say the word of matching picture in maori.

I enjoyed this activity because I revised the question I already answered.

Balancing

 I learned how to balance when using table tennis equipment.

First I learned how to hold the bat. We have to hold the bat like we are shaking someone's hand.

Next I bounced the table tennis ball with the table tennis racket by holding the racket forehand. I got 3 bounces.

Then I bounced a ball by holding the racket backhand. I got 7 bounces.

After I balanced the table tennis ball on the table tennis bat. I found it hard because the ball keep rolling on the table tennis racket.

Lastly I played the table tennis game. You have to drop the table tennis ball and hit the tennis ball with 1 bounce in my side and 1 bounce to the other side of the table.

I think it was hard because I keep on missing the ball when I was bouncing the tennis ball with the tennis racket.
