Futoshiki Puzzles

I learned how to solve a Futoshiki Puzzle.

First I drew outline of the 5x5 gride.

Next I put the three random numbers by 1-5 in any colom or row. How we solve it is that we write 1-5 in any order without touch. For example The 5 is on top of the 5. The 5 is beside the 5.

Then I learned how the symbol Futoshiki works. The symbols are (smaller than<) and (greater than>)

This way is bigger -> - this way is smaller. Same as the other symbol but the other way around. This way is smaller -< - This way is bigger. We solve the puzzle the same as the number puzzle.

Next time I should make my own futoshiki puzzle harder.

Line Art

I learned how to draw line art. Line art is a drawing that we draw with only straight lines.

First I drew a plan in my book.

Next I drew a big triangle in the middle of the paper. The triangle is a big pyramid.

Then I drew an eye next to the pyramid. To make the art I drew from the intersection to another intersection.

Finally I drew some snow flakes at the bottom of the pyramid.

Lastly I drew many small dimonds and big dimonds to finish of my pyramid.

Next time I should use numbers to make my line art. Using numbers make me draw lines on the correct intersection.

How to plant your favourite vegetable

Plant any kind of vegetable seed using these step.

Be careful of a germ called Legionella longbeachae. Legionella longbeachae is dangerous because when breath it in get really sick.

Materials

  • potting mix
  • trowels (mini shovel)
  • mask
  • water
  • gloves
  • seed
  • planter box
1.Start with a planter box

2.Put the potting mix in the planter box.

3.Poke a hole in the potting mix.

4.Put the seed in the hole.

5.Pour some water on the soil.

6.Put the pot on the window sill.

Problem solving

I finished a problem solving activity.

First I read the text and hightlight the key words. Then i I picked three stratigies. I choose place value, repeated addition, and skip counting.

Next I wrote down the equation for example: repeated addition

7 x 14 = ??

7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 = 98

7 x 14 = 98

Lastly I solved it step by step. I started adding seven 14 times and got the answer.

I think I need more practise with adding up the numbers.

Addition and Subtration

Addition and Subtraction can be solved by using two stratiegies counting on/back, rounding and compensating.

Counting on is adding forward using finger's when the number is under 10. Counting backward is subtracting number under 10 with your finger's.

Rounding and compensating is rounding the added or subtarcting number to the nerest tidy number, then compensating for the rounding. Compensating is done by splitting the new number into the old number and the left over.

Counting on/back and rounding and compensting are easy strartiegies for addition and subtraction, when numbers get to be big to be solved with basic fact.

Measurement

My group and I measured objects.

First I measured the bag storage bench that was 1.2 m. I took photos of the bag storage when I put the photo in the google slide.

Next I measured 2 carpet squares that were 99cm I took a photo of the 2 squares when Kahu wrote the information in the google slide.

Finally I measured the trapezium table that is 51 cm and I took a picture. Then me and Kahu wrote the information down and then I put the picture in the google slide.

I learned how to measure lots of objects and I could of measured 3 tote trays or I could measure something long or something short. It was fun learning alot of things.

Basic Fact Boxes

I finished a basic box challenge subtracting up to 10.

I got 100/100 correct and my time was 7 minutes and 1 seconds. Next time I am going to add up to 20 or go a harder level.

Codes

There are 3 basic turns and they are: 1/4 t, half turn , and the last one is full turn. The two directions are anticolckwise and colckwise.

Place Value

I learned how to say place value using tenths, hundredths, and thousandths.

This is a google slide of saying with tenths, hundredths, and thousandths.

I enjoyed this task because I learned how to say place value by using tenths, hundredths, thousandths.

I completed a speed demon challenge subtracting up to 20.

I got 100/100 correct and my time was 7 minutes and 1 seconds.

Next time I am going to add up to 20 or go a harder level.

How to read a calender

 how to read a calender.

1) Read what day is it.

2) Read what  date is it.

3) Read what month is it.

4) Read what year is it.

5) I put everything altogether.

I thing I need more practice with putting the day, date, month, and the year together.

Maths Problem Solving | Maths

I learned about problem solving time.

First I had to solve the correct answer.

Next I had to talk in a group about how we got the answer

Lastly we checked our answer.

I found it out easy because I had undersand the question.

Time difference

I learned how to find the time difference.

First I looked at the hour hand and subtracted the time. There was a 4 hour difference.

Next I looked at the minute hand and subtracted the time. There was a 35 minutes difference

I think I need more practise with telling the time difference.

Counting Numbers

I learned how to count numbers before and after.

First I counted up to the number one hundred. Then I counted backwards to 1.

Next I showed the number before and after.

I need to practice the number before and after more.

Times | Maths

I finished a math activity about how to read a clock.

First I looked at the minute hand and see how many minutes have past. It was 32 minutes.

Next I look at the hour had and see how many hours have past. It was 8 hours.

Then I put the hour hand first and then the minute hand together that makes 8:32

I enjoyed this activity because I leared how to tell the time in 2 diffrent ways.

Basic Fact Boxes | Maths

I completed the speed demon challenge up to 20 on addition.

I got 100/100 correct and my time was 9 minutes and 56 second.

Next time I am going to try a harder level and try be more faster.

Basic fact Boxes

I completed the speed demon challenge addition up to 10.

It took 6 minute and 43 seconds to complete the task.

I got 100/100 right.

Next time I am going to try a harder level.

Multipication 3, 4, 6

Multipication is a fast way adding the same numbers many times. The three, four, and six times tables are examples of mulitplication.

The three times tables are mulitiplying three by a number of groups. The four times tables are mulitiplying four by a number of groups. The six times table are mulitiplying six by a number of groups.

The times table are an easy way to remember basic multiplcation equations. The next times table to learn are the seven, eight, and nine times table.

Multiplication

I learned how to do multiplication.

First we had a cup of counters with unknown amount.

We have to put the counters into equal group like 11 group of 2.

Next we have to count in 2's to find the right amount of counters.

Then we have to make a rectangle to show 11 rows of 2 column so 11 x 2 =22 .

I enjoy this task because I learned how to do my multiplication.
